Landmark Credit Union
Topic: Credit Union Peer Group (Members Only)
Biography: Dan Vande Zande has been in the Financial Services Industry for 20 years. He started as a Branch Manager back in 1999 with Marine Credit Union in Waupun, WI, where he had the opportunity to work all positions from the teller line to mortgages. Dan spent a year as the Operations Manager in 2005 for six branches before they merged with another Credit Union in 2006.Dan’s career in collections began in 2006, when new management flipped the switch and told them they now had to lend AND collect. In 2011, Dan took a position as Operations Manager with Dodge Central Credit Union in Beaver Dam, WI and was responsible for handling their collections in house rather than outsourcing them. Dodge Central merged with Landmark Credit Union in New Berlin, WI in 2013. At about that time they were looking at starting a Recovery Department and Dan was lucky enough to be challenged with that opportunity and has been the Collections and Recovery Supervisor ever since. Today, Landmark Credit Union has almost 4 Billion dollars in assets and has about 40 employees in their Collections Department. Landmark Credit Union has increased their annual recovery income from $800,000 in 2013 to over 4 million dollars in 2018. Outside of work, Dan loves watching sports, and spending time with his family including his two new granddaughters.
